Our Story

Jordyn’s Soul Café is a premier soul food restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. Owner Angel McDonald opened up this business in honor of her late daughter, Jordyn. Angel has been working in the restaurant industry for many years and has always had a passion for cooking. The recipes she serves at Jordyn's Soul Café are close to her heart and have been passed down by her mother. Angel is dedicated to providing her customers with delicious food that is made from scratch daily, using only the freshest ingredients. She takes pride in providing customers with quality service and ensuring that all dishes served are prepared with care and love. Angel created a space that is second to none in its ambiance, and our food is beautifully presented with artistic attention to detail. We are committed to providing you with the best possible experience while dining with us!

Went for happy hour which included $10 appetizers and certain alcoholic beverages. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, empanadas, and lemon drop drinks. Within the same minute that our wonderful server Trell delivered the apps and drinks, I was smiling ear to ear because of how good everything tasted. The Lemon Drop did its job well, and with flavor. For the main entree we shared Smothered chicken with Mac and greens and sides, as well as ox-tail fried rice. Everything was phenomenal and I was praying that my brother wasn’t going to finish his meal so that he could give it to me. We are from the burbs but will no doubt make a trek to the city specifically to this place; thanks to Trell, Kita, and the wonderful flavors of Jordyn’s cafe. Important: great portion sizes as well
